Desc: Myanmar Goes Democrazy: Directed by Daniel Grendel, Silvana Santamaria. Myanmar Goes Democrazy is a documentary about life in a country on the cusp of democracy. After 60 years of military dictatorship - skepticism and euphoria go hand in hand. Five people from different social backgrounds highlight their perspectives on a country that is fundamentally changing: A man who fled after the massacre 1988, a reporter hoping for freedom of speech, a singer and songwriter living as a punk, a woman living on the dump site with her son, a monk who was condemned to house detention. What they have in common their lives are determined through political preconditions of their home country that used to be a military dictatorship since 1962. They speak about their struggle, their expectations and their opinion about the leadership. Something that is still quite dangerous in Myanmar. In 90 minutes the film confronts with stories between past and present stories of struggle to fit repressed biographies into a freedom yet to be gained.
